Cairo Shell Alternative Promises to Increase Productivity

Cairo is a [wikipedia]desktop shell replacement[/wikipedia] currently being developed for Windows XP and Vista that’ll feature an entirely new graphical user interface that, at first glance, appears reminiscent to Macintosh OS X Leopard, but with many Windows influences. It features a [wikipedia]Cover Flow[/wikipedia]-like viewer of content, a new taskbar with new ways of opening programs through the bar, and other customized options fitted to the end user’s liking.

Right now Cairo is in its alpha stages, only for Windows Vista at the moment, and the first alpha (Milestone 1) is currently in private testing. The forums, on the other hand, appear to be active with members and discussion about Cairo shell replacement.
